Hey all,

So this is hard for me, but I think it's finally time to bring RidiculouslyRO down for good. This isn't an issue of money (though it is eating into my wallet to keep the server up), and donations aren't necessary. It's because, as I'm sure you've all noticed, I'm completely inactive when it comes to this server, and Kinzy and Dark have had their own obligations and jobs for a while now.

There aren't many (if any) players left, and on top of that, keeping the server up gives me an obligation that I don't really need right now (between school and two jobs).

Before anyone asks, I will NOT be passing on the server to anyone else. I still feel bad for doing it to Vaxis with SunriseRO however many years ago, and this entire server was just my own personal project to see how many interesting things we could do with RO and if we could do everything by ourselves from scratch (minus, you know, the basic game engine). To be honest, I consider it a success. We managed to reassemble the client to support damage, healing, and HP (they're actually different things, who knew?) well beyond the original limit, and design a relatively balanced game around it. Though I still regret not being able to remove the annoying motion delay (I'm sure you guys who played champions noticed it).

Thanks for staying with us for so long guys, it's been a pretty good run. Good luck with whatever future servers you play, or if this is your last one, then good luck to you wherever you go next.

P.S. The server will be up til 11:30 PST (6 hours from the time of this post), after that it'll be shut off for good.

P.P.S. You guys probably don't care too much, but I'm just going to put it out there that the server was actually up for over 5000 hours (somewhere around 220 days). Pretty cool.

Script Developer applications are up, so if you or someone you know would be a good fit for this position, you (or they) should apply!

If anything, this server will let you push your scripting abilities to the limit by doing things you wouldn't have normally thought possible, so if you're interested, I encourage you to give it a shot.

I wanted to do this earlier, but I couldn't do it tonight and I'm working all of next week so I don't have as much time as I wish I did, so unfortunately we'll just have to do it next Saturday.

Anywho, this is what I have planned:

-Addition of more automated events
-Adding more class upgrades
-Adjusting effects of every quest hat to scale them up to SHR standards
-More WoE times (Possibly 1-2 more castles, Please vote here)
-Fixing ET warp bug (?)

Maintenance is finished. Unfortunately my time was cut short and I was unable to copy Heimborg NPCs to other towns, but the rest of the scripts are in.

I'll need you guys to help me test out if ET's warping bug is still there, as well as bugs with other scripts.

Yeah, I thought this was a bug worthy of a news post.

So, I had initially thought all BG items were like glorious and were unstorable. Turns out they weren't, and so now that I've adjusted that this announcement is to make sure you guys are completely informed about the situation:

BG items are no longer storable, you can STILL withdraw them from storage, but you won't be able to put them back, so make sure you know what character you want them to go on!
I was considering putting a rating requirement to use the items, but then it wouldn't work out as well.
